Type confusion.

Content:  From Jim Liebherr at Cornell U. CUIC. 5/10/2016 We have unaccessioned specimens of N. japonica: broken females in a vial labeled: "Nemoura japonica "female symbol" / Hilcosan, Bozur. 23-Aug 02" with later det. label that states: "A female ? of Austroperla cyrene (Newman), det T. Shimizu, 1998." On the back of this label he wrote, "Probably misplaced in this vial!" BUT, we also have an unaccessioned slide with two left wings, label: "Biol. Lab. L. F. U. / No. S. "female symbol" / Nemoura / japonica sp. n. / Hilconsan Bozur / Date 23 Apr. 04". Yes, the month and year do not match on the vial and slide labels. But Needham was quite casual about such minor details it seems. Does this help? It would seem the nomen dubium status is overstated, as there is a type with a det label, though the authenticity of the vial specimens might be a basis for such claim. As the wing slide has no annotation from Shimizu, it would seem better to remove the n. dubium status and leave the name incertae sedis, or as a synonym of A. cyrene?
