Image comparison allows a user to display up to twelve images at one time on the same display page.  The images can be different views of the same taxon/specimen; images of different taxa can also be compared.  Images can be individually selected and deselected for comparison.  Scroll down to see the selected images.  Different orientations and resolutions are available for comparing the current image with one of the selected images by clicking on the symbols below the selected image.

To compare images, the user searches for the target taxon, then selects an image to compare.  This process is repeated for each image:

• Search for a taxon, then select the first image by clicking the "Select image to compare" button.
• To select a second image, either click Taxa in the menu bar to select another image from the same taxon, or click Search in the menu bar to select an image from a different taxon.
• Click the "Deselect this image" button to deselect the current image, or click the "X" button to deselect any of the images in the comparison section.  Note that the images will remain selected unless specifically deselected for the duration of the browser session.
